چکیده

Abstract This study aimed to determine if heifers induced puberty had damage in reproductive performance compared with that reach naturally. Nellore (n = 210) were weaned at 8 ± 0.7 mo of age assigned 42 feedlot pens according BW (184 1 kg). The diet was compounded by Tifton-85 haylage (18% CP; 55% TDN) ad libitum and supplement (4g/kg BW; 25% 60% TDN). Puberty growth assessed weekly. At 14 age, 46 reached naturally (precocious heifers; PH) 164 non-pubertal submitted induction progesterone (P4) insert for 10 days estradiol cypionate (0.5 mg) P4 removal (puberty induction; PI). After fourteen days, all TAI. Heifers considered pregnant 20 (P20) after AI when CL blood flow < area (Power-Doppler). Pregnancy rate also determined 30 (P30) 60 (P60) embryo detection. Early (P20 – P30) late (P30 P60) embryonic loss determined. Reproductive data analyzed GLIMMIX, using repeated measures over time (MIXED; SAS 9.3). PH heavier than PI from 16 which 296 285 3 kg respectively. beginning TAI, 88% a CL. similar (P > 0.05) between treatments, pregnancy 20, or 65, 47 43% 61, 53 48% PI, (26 vs 14%) (9 9%) In summary, natural pubertal performance.

Incidence of precocious puberty in developing beef heifers.

The objectives of this study were to determine the incidence of precocious puberty and effect of exposure to a bull on the incidence of precocious puberty in beef heifers. The experiment was conducted using 120 heifers during 1990 and 1991. Heifer calves were randomly assigned to be pastured in the presence (n = 30 heifers/yr) or absence (n = 30 heifers/yr) of a bull starting at 140 +/- 14 d of...

Nutritional Regulation of Precocious Puberty in Beef Heifers

Age at puberty has an important impact on the productive, reproductive and economic efficiency of female cattle. The occurrence of this physiological event implies an adequate growth rate and development of the animal that supports the endocrinological mechanisms that lead to sexual maturity. Age at puberty and first conception will influence lifetime productivity of cattle, reflected in the nu...

Induction of precocious puberty in heifers II: advanced ovarian follicular development.

Precocious puberty can be induced in a majority of heifers weaned early and fed a high-concentrate diet. The objective of this experiment was to determine whether induction of precocious puberty is associated with an acceleration of ovarian maturation in heifers. Crossbred Angus and Simmental heifer calves were weaned at 104 +/- 2 (n = 18; early weaned) or 208 +/- 3 (n = 10; normal-weaned, NW) ...

Precocious Puberty.

Precocious puberty (PP) has traditionally been defined as pubertal changes occurring before age 8 years in girls and 9 years in boys. A secular trend toward earlier puberty has now been confirmed by recent studies in both the United States and Europe. Factors associated with earlier puberty include obesity, endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDC), and intrauterine growth restriction. In 1997, a st...
